Krekula & Lauri Såg is Sweden’s most northerly sawmill. We work with fantastic raw materials from the forest in a region rich in nature and we are based in the world’s best village, Tärendö.

We are at the centre with the forest around us. Thanks to our climate, we also have access to our unique slow growth pine, with its very high proportion of heart wood, which is almost indestructible.

In 2018, it is 65 years since the sawmill was established and a lot has happened since Eino, and his maternal uncles, Samuel and Albin, did their first business. The company has expanded, the technology has developed, the production has increased and we have more employees.

The core is still the same, we work conscientiously and with commitment to deliver the best timber to our customers, to be the partner to whom it is natural for forest owners to sell their forests and, moreover, to be an attractive employer for our employees and members of the community.

We also take responsibility. We want to stay in Tärendö, we are continuously investing in the factory, we coordinate everything concerning felling and provide advice on long-term forestry. We have both FSC^® and PEFC™ certification, guaranteeing that our timber comes from sustainable forests.
