Since 2000, Krekula & Lauri Såg is both FSC® and PEFC™ certified for its environmentally aware work. The certification show that we are a supplier that gives responsible forestry priority and that our timber products have a good origin.
FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council® and it is an independent, international, members’ organisation, that acts for an environmentally adapted, socially responsible and the financially vigorous use of the world’s forests, by means of its FSC certification system.
Certified companies comply with the FSC’s rules and standards for forestry and traceability and are permitted to label their products with the FSC trademark. The FSC label means consumers and companies can choose timber products that come from responsible forestry, that is to say, forestry that shows respect for people and the environment.
PEFC is a global member’s organisation for sustainable forestry with its roots in family-run forestry. PEFC practises third-party certification and international accreditation to guarantee quality, control and independence.
Swedish PEFC’s forestry standard aims to develop a financially sustainable and valuable forestry production as well as biological diversity, while safeguarding cultural-environmental and social and ethical values.
The standard contains three parts: Forestry Standard, Social Standard and Environmental Standard. PEFC stands for Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes.
